Well, the crazy hasn't worked out like I'd hoped. I'm trying but everyone keeps getting sick. We've had 3 weeks of horrible colds with fevers and such. I haven't been able to take the girls to the gym and that's been an excuse. I am terrible at working out at home, always have been. Still, I could do it...I just don't. I've squeezed in a few work outs here and there. I'm still trying to be cautious about what I eat but even that varies from day to day. This weekend I joined the fitness site, myfitnesspal.com to help me track my calories. It is certainly eye opening to actually track the calories burned AND calories eaten. I was over one day and under today. Everyone is mostly back to up and running again (I'm the sick one now) so we'll be heading out to the gym bright and early tomorrow morning.
Thanks for your support and encouragement and a safe place to air my lazy butt weakness.

Challenges
First of all, thanks for your encouraging comments. I read them and felt compelled to wave my hand in front of my face girly style. Seriously though, it is nice to have you guys cheering me on and holding me accountable. Now for the challenges. Yesterday I had planned an hour and a half at the gym. Then we woke up to snow. On this side of the state things shut down for a thin layer of snow because this is the land of 0 snow plows. The gym was open but the school wasn't. Roy had a phone conference so he couldn't stay with the kids. I was determined to exercise though so I set myself up on The Biggest Loser Challenge for Wii. Roy's been doing it and he loves it. I did 70 minutes of mixed workout and Yoga. It was good but not quite the intensity I was looking for at the gym. Still, I did it!
Then last night was YW and the girls brought snacks. I didn't eat any M&M's, gummy worms, popcorn, pretzels, ice cream, cheese crackers, chocolate bars etc. I did however eat one small chocolate chip cookie that was still warm from the oven. I feel okay about that. That way I didn't feel totally deprived and like I was missing out. Okay, maybe a little bit with the M&M's. Man, I love chocolate.
Today was even worse. This morning was the morning of crazy. It started normal but I had to drive the carpool. D goes to a school about 20 minutes from our home and we carpool with 3 other families in our neighborhood. I planned to go to the gym right after I got back but I would have to leave by 9:15 to get K to preschool on time. I decided when it was 8:50 to just go home and get a work out in there. I would usually work out while K's at preschool but today I took one of my YW to lunch at 10:10 today though. (I know! What an early lunch!) I didn't want to go all sweaty and gross so I knew I needed time to shower. Anyway, long story short, A threw up, K went to preschool, I went to lunch, VT came, afternoon carpool, blah blah blah and there was no work out. Again, I am not feeling too bad about it.
This is why: Today, instead of looking for excuses to NOT workout, I was trying desperately to find a way to get it in. That is a remarkable change of attitude for me. I don't think I've lost any weight yet but I feel smaller. I don't think it is water weight either because I am drinking water like a dehydrated camel!
How are you all doing?
Oh, and tomorrow? It's on!

Day Two, check
I did it again! This morning I went to the gym and participated in a step class. I really like this class and Tina, the instructor. She was in fine form today. I sweat hard and kept my heart rate up for most of the hour. After step, I climbed on the treadmill for a half an hour. I did day one of the Couch to 5K program. It isn't a particularly difficult workout but still burned another 200 calories.
I am pretty sore today and sleepy. Always sleepy. But still I feel good. I've also been careful about what I eat. I am salivating for something rich and sweet but I've brushed my teeth and I'll be going to bed soon. Another good day for being more healthy!

Day One, check!
I did it today! I went to the gym. I stayed an hour and a half. I did 30 min on the elliptical and burned 300 calories. I went down to the weights and worked my tris and bis as well as some ab stuff for about 20 minutes (I stretched too) then I went back up for another 30 min and 300 calories.
Tonight I'm tired, naturally. But I feel good about my eating. I had toast and cracked wheat (with brown sugar ;) for breakfast, a cheese stick for snack, spaghetti and meatballs for lunch, 1/4 cup of dark chocolate covered acai and blueberries (have you seen those at Costco? SO GOOD.) for another snack and zucchini/bacon/onion soup for dinner. On top of that I have drank a TON of water. I've probably filled up my water bottle at least 5 times and I've had milk.
I feel good. Tomorrow is another day. Like I said, one day-one week-one month at a time.

Okay...I guess I will chime in too.
Okay...so I guess I will chime in my two cents too.
As of two days ago I was 12 lbs above my goal weight.
I have no excuses....except.....
Overeating
back/hip injury (which means I can't run and had to take a long break from rigorous exercise)
long break from rigorous exercise
overeating
overeating
overeating.....
See...no excuses.
But...I'm back on track to loose the weight.
I've made a goal of exercising 5 days a week. I used to settle for no less than 6 but that's ridiculous at this point in my life.
I'm watching what I eat.....sort of....and hope to shed the weight before I end up hating myself forever.
If that's possible on anti depressants.....BAGH!
I was a lot skinnier when my depression and anxiety was out of control.
It's a give and take thing.
So....wish me luck.

Wellwellwell
Look who's back!
Okay, I'm jumping right in. I have issues. I hate to exercise. I'm not motivated. I lie in bed and make up reasons not to go.
This weekend hubs and I had a talk and we both committed to lose weight. It's not that I don't want to lose weight. TRUST ME. It is that I apparently don't want to lose it bad enough to actually do any work for it. But I'm recommitting.
Again.
Only this time, instead of saying, "I'm going to lose 30 pounds." I'm saying, "Here's my vigorous workout routine. I'm going to do it this week." Then I plan to do it for a week. I'm hoping that at the end of the week I can say, "Well, that wasn't so bad. I will do it this week too." And so on until I've done it for a month. Then I can evaluate and see how things are working out. (ie if the only thing shrinking is my cup size it is obviously not working out) Also, I'm telling you in a hope that internet peer pressure will help.
So this week I have decided to start hard and heavy because 'easing back into it' has been my excuse for 6 months now. How hard and heavy you ask? Well, here you go:
Monday: 30 minutes Elliptical - weights: arms - 30 minutes Elliptical
Tuesday: Couch to 5K - Step class
Wednesday: 30 minutes elliptical - weights: back/shoulders - 30 minutes elliptical
Thursday: Couch to 5K - Bodyworks class - weights: legs
Friday: Couch to 5K - Step class
This might be insane. As I type it out I think it looks crazier than it is. Then when I read it I think maybe it isn't so crazy. Is it enough? I'm only planning an hour and a half at the gym. The thing is, I need to see results. I'm not seeing results with what I'm doing which makes it harder to want to go which makes it harder to see results and so on and so forth. It is a terrible downward spiral which has contributed to my gain of 32 lbs since A was born. More than that is my lack of energy lately. I don't think it is all due to not exercising but that's certainly not helping. If I'm going to be out of energy at least I'll have burned some calories before hand. Hubs and I have also committed to being treat free. I refuse to be sugar free. Mainly because we eat hot cereal in the morning and if I can't have brown sugar on my oat bran then what is the point in living.
That may be a bit over dramatic. But still. Whole grain cereals are good and if I need a couple tsp of sugar to make them go down so be it. Better than Coco Puffs
Alright. So. Any words of encouragement? I have to try something and it seems time for something drastic.
Oh, and in case you are wondering, I'm 5'3" and 160 lbs. More than I weighed when I was full term with #1.
Val, could you invite me to be a contributor at sapyatt at gmail because that is what I use to log on for my other blog and it would be nice to have them both on the same log in.

Help
I have a bit of a problem. I keep losing weight, but not because I'm trying. I am so stressed out that I have absolutely no appetite and so I'm not eating enough. I know you all think I'm being stupid and should take it and be happy, but I've lost 5 pounds in the week and a half that Joe's been gone and I'm not on hcg. I'm now at 125.2 which, while I like the number, the way I've gotten there isn't healthy.
So how do I eat when the thought of eating makes me want to hurl? I like food, but nothing sounds good, I eat what I do because I know I have to eat something. But I literally ate half a peanut butter sandwich and a granola bar yesterday and that was it. I had additional calories from a couple of pops but I dropped 1.2 pounds from yesterday to today.
I know the best thing is to alleviate my stress but that's basically out of my hands. Joe's ex is making life very difficult...we're dealing with lawyers on a daily basis which gets expensive. Then Joe's job is getting ready to change which vessel he goes to so we don't know if he's coming home after just a week and a half out, if he's going straight to a new boat, or going to Louisiana for training or some combination of those. The problem there is that if he's not working on a boat he's not getting paid at his regular rate. So then we throw financial issues on top of things. Also, we've recently decided that I need to get a job so I'm filling out applications, submitting resumes, and typing up cover letters like a mad woman. I had my first interview yesterday and they offere me $9 an hour...Um no. That's kind of the whole reason I went to school and into debt was so that I could make more than they offer at Walmart. It's so bad that not only can I not eat, I'm not sleeping, and my period started an entire week early.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Update
I lost 12 pounds on the Hcg and then I got off it, didn't do maintenance (I never have), and am in that horrible in between stage where I'm gaining while things stabilize. It will eventually go back down so I'm not horribly concerned right now...So I'm back up 4 pounds to 130, which sucks. But, the good news is I am working out again. I am watching what I eat. I am using weights, and doing squats. On purpose. I have to hold onto the counter to sit on the toilet, or I'm in danger of falling in. In short, I'm SORE. But it's a good kind of sore, the kind where you know that you're doing something to lift and tighten things. I'm also doing a ton and a half of ab work but I have a feeling that what is left on my stomach will require surgical removal as it's less fat and more stretched out skin from having kids. Oh well, that's what savings accounts are for.
In jeans I am wearing a size 4 womens, 5 juniors. In shirts I am wearing a XS womens, S or M juniors (depends on the cut). The smallest I ever was in HS was a 6 in jeans and a M in shirts. Either vanity sizing is out of control or I really am smaller than I was then.
